    Your Purchase.

    Each item displayed on this site has been hand made by one of the artisans that we support in South Africa. Our artisans sell their crafts in South Africa in the informal sector and have not been able to acquire alternative employment. They rely on the sale of their crafts in order to attain a sustainable living. However, as tourism fluctuates as a result of criminal activities in the country, earning a salary above the "breadline" is a challenge. Our purpose is to help our artisans maintain a liveable wage and we do so following Fair Trade standards. All items are purchased up front with cash in South Africa.

    Each item has been uniquely hand crafted and as such, colors and shapes may vary slightly. Our products are not mass produced.

    Payment Terms

    For your convenience and peace of mind, the Bead Bug offers safe and secure payment options for retail shopping through PayPal. Simply follow the prompts through the Shopping Cart. You do not have to be a member of PayPal to purchase through this system. Orders paid by check will be shipped following bank clearance.

    Shipping

    Retail orders are shipped within 48 hours of receipt of payment. Shipping charges are  based on  the weight and size of your package. A minimum package and handling fee is included in the calculation.  All orders are shipped via USPS, ground mail. Shipments can be expeditited faster on request.     At this time, The Bead Bug, LLC ships merchandise to locations within the United States and U.S. territories, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands. Additionally, The Bead Bug, LLC ships merchandise to Canada and Mexico, but not to other international locations. The risk of loss and title for all merchandise ordered on this Web site pass to you when the merchandise is delivered to the shipping carrier.

    Customs and import duties may be applied to International orders when the shipment reaches its destination. Such charges are the responsibility of the recipient of your order and vary from country to country. Contact your local customs office for details.

    Shipping laws are different in each country. It is your responsibility to check with your Customs office to verify whether the country to which you are shipping permits the shipment of your products. The Bead Bug, LLC is not responsible for any direct, indirect, punitive, or consequential damages that arise from improper international shipping practices.

    Wholesale Orders

    Wholesale prices are applicable to retail outlets only and are intended for resale. There is a first order minimum of $175 on necklaces and $100 on all other items. All first orders are accepted with credit card payment or with a prepaid check. Please note that our terms do not include COD and orders will be shipped once checks have been cleared. Wholesale items are generally made to order and delivered within 8 to 12 weeks.

    Returns/Damaged items

    All items are carefully inspected before they are packaged for shipment. Please report any shipping damage within 24 hours of receipt.
    Should you not be entirely happy with your purchase we will gladly accept a return within 14 days of purchase. Your account will be reimbursed for the full purchase price excluding shipping and handling fees on receipt of the return.
